The Bieszczady Mountains lie in the most south – eastern part of Poland. It is the first mountain range of the East Carpatians (Karpaty Wschodnie). Before WW II the main inhabitants of this area were Russian Carpatian highlanders called Bojkowie. Apart from them Polish, Jews and Germans lived here. After 1947 the area emptied as most of the people left or were deported in 1947. Today the Bieszczady Mountains are still the most scarsely populated Polish mountains. | |

 | Tourist farms often offer accomodation ( about £3 per night)
and full board ( additional £3 for typical Polish dishes).
They usually have a few guest rooms. It is possible to get a lift
from and to the airport if arranged before. At studs one can rent a horse for a ride or take a horseriding
lesson. Most of the studs have at least several horses to rent.
One hour of horseriding is about £3. One hour tour
with an instructor costs about £4. The owners of the studs
listed below are all English speaking.
